EU Law in Practice

The aim of the course is to provide law students with an insight into the fields of EU law that are of particular importance in legal practice, going beyond and substantially deeper than the material covered in the standard university law curriculum. These areas have included, among others, energy law, public procurement law, law of international economic relations, european trade law, the law of infringement proceedings, international mergers and acquisitions law, and various other fields.

EU Law in Practice Block Seminar

This is a version of the EU Law in Practice course specifically adapted for delivery at regional and cross-border educational centres. Its purpose is to allow students to explore a particular sub-area of EU law locally during an intensive weekend programme.

The EU From Inside

A highly successful one-week study visit organised every semester to Brussels and Luxembourg. During the programme, law students visit the institutions of the European Commission (inter alia: Legal Service, DG TAXUD, DG COMP, EEAS, etc.), meet with the heads and legal experts of the Hungarian Permanent Representation to the EU, and then travel to Luxembourg, where they attend hearings at the Court of Justice of the European Union. They also participate in professional meetings that provide insight into the functioning of EU law through discussions with Hungarian and foreign judges and Advocates General. In Luxembourg, the programme also includes a visit to the European Court of Auditors, accompanied by a professional meeting with representatives of the institution.
