In recent years, we have witnessed the transformation of the global world order, with significant implications for both the practical functioning of state structures and constitutional frameworks. Issues such as the presidentialization of executive power, the shift in the balance of power among branches of government, and the constitutionalization of international law are not merely abstract concerns; they directly impact the everyday practices of governance and government operations. Understanding these dynamics requires an interdisciplinary approach, achieved only by simultaneously studying the practical challenges of governance and the theoretical foundations of constitutional structures.
This workshop aims to provide insights into the challenges facing governance, statehood, and constitutionalism by examining constitutional and political science perspectives in tandem. The primary focus of the workshop is on the evolution of Hungary’s constitutional framework and governance since the political transition, with ongoing attention to international developments and challenges.
