Sociology seeks to answer questions about the nature, functioning and changes of societies, about which we have a lot of rather partial and superficial knowledge, and our own experience, our information gained from cultural consumption (literature, media, etc.) does not provide a complete picture either. Sociology explores the laws and processes of social life through empirical research in accordance with the criteria of scientific knowledge.
The Center offers practice-oriented courses that allow MCC students to work as a research team to gain the skills needed to conduct independent research and, going beyond this, to go through the entire research process from research design and fieldwork to the publication of the findings.
