Center for Asian–Hungarian Relations

The Center for Asian–Hungarian Relations was established in line with the efforts of the Mathias Corvinus Collegium to strengthen its network of Asian partnerships and place greater emphasis on connectivity and eastward cooperation in a rapidly changing global economic and geopolitical environment. As the transformation of the world order makes the diversification of international relations increasingly important, the Center aims to bring together and coordinate MCC’s Asian partnerships while also supporting the development of new professional and institutional collaborations with actors across the region.

The Center’s work focuses on examining Asia’s – particularly China’s – political, economic, and international role, as well as analysing the evolution of Eurasian and European relations. Its professional activities are based on research, background analyses, and publications, while it also contributes to expanding knowledge about Asia through conferences, professional events, and international cooperation.

The goal of the Center for Asian–Hungarian Relations is to contribute to a better understanding of different cultures and ways of thinking in preparation for the emerging multipolar world order, to support knowledge transfer, and to broaden the international opportunities available to MCC students and researchers in Asia.

The Center is headed by Dr Levente Horváth, former Consul General of Hungary in Shanghai.
