Eric Voegelin azon 20. századi gondolkodók közé tartozott, aki felismerve ezt a jelenséget, az önéletrajzi írása egyik fejezetének ezt a címet adta: „Miért kell a filozófia? Hogy visszaszerezzük a valóságot!” Újra fel kell fedezni azokat a régi szerzőket és gondolataikat, akik még nem vesztették el a valóságot. Eric Voegelin (1901-1985) az Anschluss előtt az Egyesült Államokba emigrált, ahol a 20. századi politikai filozófia reneszánszának egyik legnagyobb, iskolateremtő gondolkodójává vált. Összes műveinek 34 kötetében megtaláljuk a legnagyobb művét, az Order and History-t, a nagy hatást kiváltó The New Science of Politics-ot vagy az Anamnesis: On the Theory of History and Politics-ot is.

Az MCC-ben alapított Politikai Filozófia Európai Központja 2024. október 10-11-én konferenciát tart Eric Voegelin legjelentősebb tanítványainak – Tilo Schabert, David Walsh, Barry Cooper, James Stoner - és követőinek részvételével, hogy a klasszikus politikai filozófia eszközeit felhasználva értelmezzük korunk legfontosabb kérdéseit, Voegelin gondolatainak a hatását a jelenünkre a mai valóságunk felfedezésének az igényével.
