At the end of 2023, the Gulf of Aden and the Horn of Africa found themselves in the international community's spotlight. Houthi anti-ship missiles, the new rise of Somali piracy, and the Ethiopia-Somali deal on Berbera Port jeopardized the fragile stability of the region. They stalked new tension among local and international actors.

In our roundtable discussions, we analyze the dynamics of domestic politics and international competition on the Horn of Africa as well as the role of state and non-state actors. We'll emphasize the development on the Horn of Africa and the Gulf of Aden affect the region and the wider international community.
