Youth Talent Program

Started in 2015, Mathias Corvinus Collegium's Youth Talent Program (FIT), serves the youngest age group involved in the Collegium's education activities. Currently, training programs are available in 23 locations across the Carpathian Basin. As of 2023, FIT involves 70 staff members, 9 mentor-instructors, 110 instructors and 1500 students

This complex talent initiative provides upper-grade elementary school students with an extra-curricular educational program that complements and supplements public education with an interdisciplinary, practice-based, and experience-oriented curriculum. Besides its interdisciplinary coverage, which is a pillar of MCC's programs, FIT creates active, collaborative and supportive student communities, and promotes the value of community thinking. The program also ensures that, by its completion, students will have identified the career paths that best match their interests and skills and will have gained broad insight and practical experience into relevant and rewarding fields. Furthermore, the training provides its participants with the know-how and skills to make informed career choices. The long-term and individual-centered goal of MCC's FIT program is to mold participants into active, knowledgeable, and well-informed members of their communities who use their respective fields to contribute to their community. To lay the foundations of this long-term goal, the FIT Program supports the shaping of attitudes and the acquisition of age-appropriate knowledge, while the institution's other programs, such as the High School and University Program, offer later-stage development opportunities in an individual's career.

The FIT Program, like MCC's other training programs, is characterized by a high degree of intellectual freedom and independence. Our educational activities are based exclusively on professional pedagogical considerations, with a focus on talent development and living a fulfilled life. The FIT training year begins with team-building programs for the admitted 5th, 6th,7th,and 8th graders followed by "FIT Saturdays" for all age groups. Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge on topics ranging from financial literacy, internet use, math, science experiments, media and film, digital media, astronomy and space physics, drones, and health awareness. For each grade, our specialists put special emphasis on personal development in the so-called Develent courses. In the spring semester, the FIT Adventure Talent Competition is organized, which gives 4th grade students a chance to test themselves and glimpse into the inspiring world of the Youth Talent Program. In addition to the program, MCC's training centers placed particular emphasis on working with parents. At the highly popular Parents' Academy events, leading education experts help both FIT and non-FIT parents find their way through parenting.

With the addition of new MCC centers in Dunajská Streda (Dunajská Streda, Slovakia), and Kaposvár, the FIT Program's offers its services in over 25 cities throughout the Carpathian Basin.
