Recently, there has been an increasing discourse surrounding the possibility that, in the event of an electoral victory by the opposition, the current Fundamental Law may be either repealed, rewritten, or replaced by a new constitution. This could potentially occur through either a disregard for formal procedural rules or by creatively interpreting them. The invited scholars engage in a discussion on the conditions under which such a scenario might be conceivable, the legitimacy of adopting a new constitution under these circumstances, and the potential ramifications of such a process.
Our guests will be Péter Hack, Péter Smuk and Gábor Halmai, who will join us online
Moderator: Kálmán Pócza, Head of the MCC Center for Constitutional Politics
