On May 5, 2026, two colleagues from MCC’s Center for Constitutional Politics, Dóra Réka Babos and Márton Csapodi, presented their latest research at the Second Doctoral Students' Workshop titled "The Rule of Law and Judicial Dialogue in Europe: Continuity and Change".
The conference was jointly organized by the doctoral schools of Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPCU), Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, and Wroclaw University, Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics. The event, held at the PPCU campus in Budapest, provided a vital platform for emerging scholars to discuss pressing issues surrounding constitutional practice and the rule of law across Europe.
Dóra Réka Babos presented her work during the panel focused on the "Theory of Rule of Law and its conceptual issues". Her presentation, titled "The Impact of Judicial Appointment Models on the Independence of Constitutional Courts: The Spanish Case", explored the structural dynamics that influence judicial autonomy.
In a parallel session addressing "Judicial dialogue, constitutional practice and current challenges", Márton Csapodi shared his insights on domestic constitutional adjudication. His presentation was entitled "Judicial Politics and Constitutional Rights: Individual Complaints Before the Hungarian Constitutional Court (2012-2024)".
