21 students started their studies free of charge thanks to the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC), the Hungarian Youth Council (MIÉRT) and the Hungarian Democratic Alliance of Romania (RMDSZ).

At the opening ceremony, Szilárd Szerényi, Head of the Transylvanian School of Politics, András Hajdú, Deputy State Secretary for Public Policy, Dóra Szilágyi, President of MIÉRT and Imre Geréd, Director of the MCC Transylvanian Institute welcomed the participants. The training series consists of 6 intensive training weekends, the first weekend was held in Cluj-Napoca from 8-10 November.

Szilárd Szerényi, head of the Transylvanian School of Politics, presented the structure and organisation of the training. Béla Markó, former President of the Federation and President of the Kós Károly Academy Foundation, told the students about the legal measures for minorities in Romania and the beginnings of the RMDSZ. Hunor Kelemen, President of the RMDSZ, Botond Csoma, Member of Parliament, and István Szilárd Tasnádi, candidate for the Senate of Cluj County, discussed current affairs, Cluj and the future of Hungary.

They had the opportunity to improve their professional skills in various workshops: they learned the basics of public speaking from Vilmos Benkő, former President of the American Chamber of Commerce, and Etelka Márkus, a television professional, guided them into the world of public speaking. The program was enriched by lectures by András Hajdú, Research Fellow at the MCC's School of Social Sciences and History and István Horváth, sociologist.
