Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) has officially inaugurated its newly renovated Szolnok Center. In his opening remarks, Director General Zoltán Szalai highlighted the symbolic transformation of the former “actors’ house,” noting that while its past residents once stood on the world’s stages, it will now serve as a launching platform for MCC students to build knowledge and eventually contribute to Hungary’s future.
Szolnok Center, a key pillar of MCC since 2015, has outgrown its original facilities as it expanded to host the Youth Talent Program, the High School Program, and a series of public, cultural, and professional events. The new, modern building ensures that MCC’s work can continue in an environment aligned with its growing mission.
Member of Parliament Dr. Mária Kállai emphasized the importance of nurturing Hungary’s talent and praised MCC’s strong community engagement. Over the past decade, nearly 150 students have graduated from the Youth Talent Program, while 91 are currently enrolled, and the High School Program now serves 81 students from Szolnok and surrounding towns.
Closing the event, Orsolya Bernáth, Head of MCC Szolnok, expressed gratitude for the effort behind the project, noting that “years of dedication have brought MCC Szolnok to this milestone.”
