Students from MCC Debate Academy's High School Program concluded this year's competitive debate course with a week-long study trip to the World Schools Debate Academy in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. During the week-long program, participants joined students from across the world to deepen their knowledge, develop practical skills, and gain valuable international experience.

Throughout the academy, students took part in an intensive professional program designed to strengthen their understanding of competitive debating. Lectures focused on argumentation, rebuttal techniques, debate strategy, and different debating formats, while practical sessions gave participants the opportunity to compete in international teams. Following each debate round, experienced international adjudicators provided detailed feedback to help students refine their performance.

Alongside the academic program, the study trip also emphasized international networking and cultural exchange. Participants explored the natural beauty of Kranjska Gora, visited the Zelenci Nature Reserve and Lake Bled, and took part in community events, including the Country Expo, where each delegation introduced its country's culture, traditions, and cuisine.

The program concluded with a prestigious international debate tournament, where MCC students achieved outstanding results. Among the 18 competing teams, the trio of Léna Sárközi (Budapest), Alexandra Illés (Eger), and Lilla Napsugár Bene (Szeged) advanced to the semifinals. Team Eurasia reached the quarterfinals with contributions from Nóra Nagy (Győr) and Rita Madarász (Miercurea Ciuc), while Bence Tachu (Kecskemét) and his team secured an impressive 10th place overall.

MCC students also delivered excellent individual performances. In the novice category, which featured 45 competitors, Alexandra Illés finished 6th, Lilla Napsugár Bene placed 7th, Kamilla Zoé Böcz (Szekszárd) finished 8th, Nóra Nagy placed 11th, and Léna Sárközi secured 13th place.

Providing talented students with opportunities to test their skills in an international environment remains a key priority of MCC's Debate Academy. The World Schools Debate Academy offered participants high quality professional training, international competition experience, and meaningful cultural exchange, providing a fitting conclusion to this year's competitive debate course.
