John Wyatt, professor emeritus at University College London and physician with decades of medical experience, provided outstanding guidance during the research seminar on euthanasia, which has recently been of great interest in Hungary. Professor Wyatt's expertise and experience helped the audience to gain a more nuanced understanding of the ethical and legal issues of euthanasia and assisted suicide. During the seminar, he also touched upon topics such as the main moral and practical arguments for euthanasia and their "pro-life" refutation, but depending on the questions of the audience, he also examined the issue through the lens of the modern secular state or the transhumanist worldview. He also discussed the possibilities of palliative medicine, which offers a human-centered approach to patients in the final stages of life, and which was also an important aspect in discussing the ethics and practice of euthanasia. The seminar was based on Professor Wyatt's book Right to Die, which provided additional depth and context to his lecture on euthanasia.
