Our junior research fellow, Márk Dudás, and his team were among the eight best teams in the world at the Cross-Examination Moot organized by the International Chamber of Commerce.

Márk Dudás, a junior research fellow at the MCC Center for Constitutional Politics, and his team from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at Pázmány Péter Catholic University achieved an extraordinary milestone by ranking among the top eight teams in the world at the Cross-Examination Moot held in Paris. This renowned competition, organized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), brought together elite teams from globally acclaimed institutions such as Sciences Po, the National University of Singapore (NUS), New York University (NYU), and Queen Mary University of London.

To qualify for the competition, Márk and his team tackled the demanding task of analyzing a comprehensive 350-page casefile on intellectual property law. Their preparation involved mastering intricate legal arguments and conducting rigorous cross-examinations of fact witnesses and expert witnesses specializing in economics. This intensive process tested not only their legal knowledge but also their advocacy and critical thinking skills.

Their exceptional performance in the competition is underscored by victories over prestigious institutions, including King's College London, the University of New South Wales, Sciences Po, and even the 2022 champions, NALSAR University. The team achieved a second-place finish in the 2023 competition.
