Kálmán Pócza and Márton Csapodi from the MCC Center for Constitutional Politics presented their research on the ongoing jurisdictional conflicts within the European Union at the conference The Lisbon Treaty 15 Yean On – Achievements and Challanges organized by Petra Láncos (Pázmány Péter Catholic University) and Robert Böttner (University of Erfurt). The two-day international conference was held at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Budapest on 19-20 March.  Kálmán Pócza and Márton Csapodi highlighted the crucial role of political compromise over adversarial legalism in resolving disputes between national constitutional courts and the European Court of Justice. They argued that political compromises have historically been and should continue to be a fundamental mechanism for maintaining the stability and integration of the EU, countering the push for full parliamentarization or judicialization. The keynote speeches of the conference were delivered by Eleanor Sharpston (former Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the EU) and Tihamér Tóth (Judge at the General Court of the European Union).
