This year, we celebrate the 430th anniversary of René Descartes, one of the most influential French philosophers of modernity. Together with renowned Descartes scholar Zbigniew Janowski, we will commemorate Descartes’ work and seek to understand the impact of his philosophy on later eras, with particular attention to why it remains relevant today. We will explore questions such as the role of physics, ethics, and the “technological project.” These and other topics will be examined during our roundtable discussion with Professor Janowski.
