Zoltán Turgonyi is a senior research fellow at the Institute of Philosophy of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He continued his university studies at the Faculty of Humanities of Eötvös Loránd University. In 1982 he graduated in History and Humanities and in 1986 in Philosophy. In 1985, he joined the Institute of Philosophy of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, where he has been working full-time ever since (now as the "Institute of Philosophy of the Research Centre for the Humanities"). He is currently a senior research fellow. He was awarded his PhD in 2005. In 2018 he was elected a full member of the Szent István Academy of Sciences. He has taught part-time at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, the University of Debrecen, the Episcopal Theological College of Győr and the Vitéz János Catholic Teacher Training College in Esztergom. He is also currently teaching at the Corvinus University as a lecturer in the framework of the KETEG (Christian Social Principles in Economy) program. He is a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Society of Hungary, the Ius Naturale Research Group at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Pázmány Péter Catholic University and the Hungarian Bioethical Society.
