MCC students visited Városliget (City Park), the House of Hungarian Music that is under construction, where they could also gain insight into the construction process. During the nearly 2-hour program, the project manager guided the group, who were able to learn about the institution’s concept, program design, and novelty features, as well as the subtle architectural solutions that make the building special and organic. Sou Fujimoto, the building’s designer, dreamed of a modern, extravagant yet close-to-nature building for music. The 3-storey building will house a music history exhibition space, an indoor and an outdoor concert hall, and music pedagogical workshops. The public space, located next to the Városliget lake, near the Vajdahunyad castle and the City Park Ice Rink building, will open its doors in 2021.
