On 18 October 2021, Associate Professor and Vice-Dean Ondrej Hamulak of the Faculty of Law at the Palacky University in Olomouc was a guest of our Law School at the invitation of the head of our Public Law Center, Márton Sulyok.

During the guest lecture, the two colleagues talked about national and European approaches to the application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and its "implementation dilemma" regarding national constitutional courts. The talk also touched upon possible conflicts between these approaches based on several examples. The issue of primacy of EU law and proportionality were also addressed as well as the possible role of the preliminary ruling procedure regarding the interpretation and application of the Charter in national judicial proceedings and the procedures of constitutional courts.
