We were honored to welcome H.E. Anshuman Gaur, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Hungary, to MCC Budapest. He joined us as a guest speaker for our Ambassador Talks series, sharing his insights not only on the diplomatic history between our two nations, dating back to 1948, but also offering a deep dive into the shifting global power dynamics and the transformative power of digital innovation.

During his comprehensive analysis, the Ambassador touched upon several strategic topics. He detailed the profound cultural layers connecting our nations, emphasizing the intellectual legacy of Sándor Kőrösi Csoma, the art of Amrita Sher-Gil, and Rabindranath Tagore’s ties to Hungary, all of which serve as a solid bedrock for contemporary political and economic cooperation. The discussion highlighted economic synergies, noting the success of Richter Gedeon in the Indian market and the increasing volume of high-value Indian technological investments in Hungary. In terms of bilateral relations, he highlighted that our youth is the key, therefore, educating them is the most rewarding endeavor.

A central theme of the discourse was India’s technological sovereignty, where the Ambassador introduced the "India Stack" and the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) model as robust alternatives to Western digital infrastructure. He explained how this technology has not only democratized access to digital public goods but also made the economy transparent at an unprecedented scale. In the geopolitical segment, the mutual commitment to peace, the necessary reform of the UN Security Council, and "Vision 2047", were key points of discussion.

Moderated by MCC student Levente Werner, the event concluded with a Q&A session where students engaged with Ambassador Anshuman Gaur on topics ranging from the startup ecosystem to the societal impact of artificial intelligence.
