The latest report from the Institute for Youth Studies, Youth '24 Youth Report, has highlighted important issues.

After the welcoming speech of Levente Székely, Director of the Youth Research Institute, Georgina Kiss-Kozma, Head of Research presented the comprehensive results of the study, which analyse the social and economic challenges affecting young people and the impact of the digital world. The summary shows that, unlike in previous years, the representative sample has been expanded to include 15-34 year olds in 2024, and reduced from 8,000 to 5,000. During the presentation, Georgina elaborated on initiatives to support youth housing and the housing market situation, looking at their impact on young people's living conditions.

During the panel discussion moderated by family safety expert Ákos Pöltl, Dorina Pető, Head of the MCC's Healthy for You program, Enikő Szakos, Head of Department and Researcher at the Learning Institute, Gergely Réti, Collegium Commisioner of MCC, and László Tóth Bálint, Researcher at the School of Social Sciences and History, who each authored a chapter of the report, shared their research experiences in 2024.

The experts agreed that the biggest challenges in youth affairs in the past year have been the growing influence of the digital environment, global political events and economic changes, which have had an impact on education, young people's mental health and the quality of human relations.

The findings of the study and the panel discussion made it clear that support, regulation and mental health measures affecting young people's lives require particular attention.

Together we can help future generations to live more stable, balanced lives free from negative digital influences!
