Different career paths, professional fields, and future opportunities took center stage at the October KP Saturday in Budapest, part of High School Program (KP). Throughout the interactive event, students explored a variety of professions while reflecting on their interests and options for further education.
The day began with a panel discussion featuring three MCC alumni working in entrepreneurship, the space industry, and diplomacy. They shared their professional experiences, discussing how they discovered their interests, which decisions and turning points shaped their careers, and the challenges they faced along the way. Their stories highlighted that career paths rarely follow a straight or predictable course.
Several students from MCC’s University Program shared their experiences and introduced the program’s academic and community opportunities. They explained how these opportunities complement university studies and emphasized that choosing a major and a university is only part of the decision. The environment in which young people learn, grow, and build relationships can be just as important.
Students could also choose from a variety of workshops focused on different professional fields. Those interested in law learned from attorneys about the realities of legal practice, the areas in which lawyers can specialize, and the career opportunities available in the field. A business workshop introduced students to the diverse world of business and explored the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in it.
Another workshop focused on robotics and technological innovation, examining how automation could transform existing jobs, what new opportunities might emerge, and how human knowledge and creativity could shape the future of work.
An English-language workshop explored current issues in environmental protection and sustainability. Students discussed climate change, biodiversity, and renewable energy while practicing how to express their opinions, construct arguments, and propose potential solutions in English.
The October KP Saturday gave students the chance to explore a variety of career paths and consider their options for further education. The event emphasized that high school students do not need to have their futures all figured out. By discovering new fields, gaining firsthand insights, and exploring their interests, they can take meaningful steps toward making informed decisions about their future studies and careers.
