From September 25 to 27, we held the first online training weekend of the autumn semester of the Transcarpathian Public Leadership Program.

On Friday, the 25th, György Kerekes, environmental lawyer and head of the MCC Institute for Climate Policy, gave a presentation to our students titled "Climate Change and Adaptation in the Carpathian Basin - Challenges, Answers and Policy Action", followed by an informal, team-building program.

On Saturday, Attila Demkó, a security policy expert and the head of the Geopolitical Centre, spoke about the recent geopolitical changes, focusing on the Ukraine-Hungary axis.

During the afternoon, Szabolcs Janik, deputy director of the Migration Research Institute, gave a lecture, and Hajnalka Benkó, the Coordinator of the Transcarpathian Public Leadership Program (KMKSZ), introduced the structure of the training to the students.

The third training day was opened by Andrea Bocskor MEP, Balázs Orbán, Chairman of the MCC Board of Trustees, Zoltán Szalai, Director General of MCC and István Dobsa, President of the Youth Organization of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association. After the greetings, the students introduced themselves to each other in their own TEDx speech. In the afternoon, the young people could try out a presentation exercise, where they could learn the technique of public speaking, and at the end of the weekend they could listen to a lecture on the situation of the Hungarians in Transcarpathia from Karolina Darcsi, KMKSZ communication secretary and István Dobsa.
