On March 13, fellows visited Székesfehérvár to immerse themselves in the city's cultural and institutional life through a diverse program of activities.
Their first stop was MCC Székesfehérvár Center, where they met with local colleagues. In addition to an introduction to MCC's professional and educational activities, the fellows had the opportunity to engage in discussions with the institution's staff. The meeting covered the goals of the institution, as well as the training programs and initiatives taking place there.
The next stop of the day was Székesfehérvár's City Hall, where Deputy Mayor Zsolt Lehrner welcomed the guests. The deputy mayor introduced the history of Székesfehérvár, its current development plans, and its cultural role in Hungary. The fellows actively participated in the conversation, asking questions that helped them gain a deeper understanding of the city's operations and future objectives.
To conclude the program, the group visited the famous Bory Castle, where they learned about the historical and architectural background of the building through a guided tour. The Bory Castle impressed the participants not only with its architectural uniqueness but also with the story behind it: it was built by Jenő Bory with his own hands and dedication, making it a truly unique monument.
The visit of the Budapest Fellowship and Visiting Fellowship Program fellows was not only about discovering the historical and cultural values of the city but also about building deeper connections with Hungarian institutions and communities. The visit provided an inspiring experience for all participants and contributed to achieving the goals of the program.
