Students of MCC’s Youth Talent Program in Szolnok explored the cultures, traditions, and everyday life of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and the United Kingdom during a week-long English language camp. Through creative and interactive activities, students had the opportunity to practise their English in a variety of situations while learning more about the English-speaking world.
Each day focused on a different country, combining language learning with cultural discovery. Students put their knowledge into practice through group projects, creating posters and short presentations about the countries they explored and presenting their work to their peers.
Creativity also played an important role throughout the week. One of the highlights was an escape room designed by the students themselves, where participants completed a series of playful challenges in English.
The program extended beyond language sessions, with cultural and community activities also forming an important part of the camp. Students visited the Szolnok Artists’ Colony, where they learned more about the site and the work of its resident artists. Outdoor games, board games, and team activities offered further opportunities to spend time together and build a stronger community.
Four students from MCC’s High School Program also joined the camp as volunteers. In addition to supporting the younger students, they gained first-hand experience in organizing and running activities.
The camp gave students the chance to use English beyond traditional classroom exercises, helping them gain confidence and practical experience while discovering different cultures along the way.
