At the last Leadership Club of the semester, our guest was Joerg Bauer, President and CEO of Tungsram Group. The Budapest-based multinational company has global operations in sales and research and development, and employs more than 4,000 people. During the online chat, in addition to gaining insight into the company’s operations and activities, we were able to learn more about Joerg’s career path and leadership views. During the evening, we also touched upon the topic of innovation, and its key role, the avoidance of burnout, and the importance of motivation were also discussed.
Joerg Bauer, the owner and CEO of the Tungsram Group, revived the brand with the acquisition of the Hungarian GE Lightning business. The acquisition of GE Lightning’s European, Middle Eastern, African and Turkish interests, as well as the entire GE Lightning Global Automotive business, is currently underway. The Tungsram Group is a Hungarian-based multi-national big enterprise headquartered in Budapest. It employs more than 4,000 people globally in the areas of sales, distribution, research and development, and the supply chain. Joerg was previously the Central and Eastern European Chief Financial Officer of GE Healthcare, and later, as CEO of GE Hungary, he was responsible for the management of more than 10,000 employees, 12 depots, 4 R&D centers and of the Hungarian centre out of the five GE Global Operations Centers.
