MCC Miskolc recently welcomed a distinguished guest as His Excellency Saud Hamad Ghanem Hamad Alshamsi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Hungary, visited the city at the invitation of Mathias Corvinus Collegium. The visit took place as part of MCC’s Ambassador Talk series, which aims to bring the world of diplomacy closer to students through direct and engaging conversations.

During his visit, the ambassador first met with József Tóth-Szántai, Mayor of Miskolc, before joining MCC University and High School students for an informal discussion. The relaxed atmosphere allowed participants to ask questions and engage in open conversation beyond the framework of traditional diplomatic protocol.

Representing the United Arab Emirates in Budapest since 2022, His Excellency Saud Hamad Ghanem Hamad Alshamsi has worked actively to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries. During the discussion, he highlighted cooperation in higher education, investment opportunities, and initiatives aimed at deepening bilateral relations. He also emphasized that Hungarian creativity, expertise, and mindset provide a strong foundation for successful partnerships, adding that the two nations share many common values.

Beyond diplomacy and international relations, His Excellency also shared personal insights and advice for the younger generation, encouraging students to remain proactive, courageous, and open to opportunities while seeking mentors who can help turn their ideas into reality.

The event concluded with a special announcement about the internationally renowned Zayed Charity Run, which will be held in Europe for the first time this year in Budapest. Organized by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, the event will support Hungarian charitable organizations, and several MCC staff members and students have already registered to participate following the ambassador’s personal invitation.

Through the Ambassador Talk series, MCC continues to provide students with opportunities to engage directly with internationally respected figures and gain firsthand insight into diplomacy, international cooperation, and global dialogue.
