Dr. Tsega Gebrekristos Mezgebo is an Assistant Professor at Ethiopian Public Service University. In addition to her research and teaching role, currently, she is director of the Research and Consultancy Directorate at the University. She also a board member of the Ethiopian Evaluation Association (EEvA) and member of the National Steering Committee for DEEP-Ethiopia Challenge Fund. She earned a PhD in Food Science and Technology (specialization Rural Development) from University College Cork, Ireland; a Master’s degree in Mathematical Economics and Econometric Methods from Tilburg University, Netherlands; and Bachelor degrees in Economics and Mathematics from Mekelle University and Addis Ababa University respectively.
Dr. Mezgebo has worked in universities at different capacities for about two decades and has published on issues related to urbanization, welfare, wage inequality, gender, and youth employment. Her research has benefited from the financial and technical supports form various international and national organizations including the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP); Mastercard Foundation; INCLUDE; UNICEF; Ethiopian Economic Association; and Ethiopian Civil Service University. Her research interest focuses on labour market, gender, urbanization, welfare, and migration and currently working on the Role of Education on the Future of Farming.
