Prof. Dr Oliver Lembcke was born in Berlin on 14 March 1969. He has been a professor of political science at Ruhr-Universität Bochum since 2020, having previously held teaching positions at various universities, including Erfurt, Leipzig, Jena and Hamburg. He is currently also a Research Fellow at the VU Amsterdam. His research focuses on normative democratic theory and empirical democracy research, judicial governance and the political theory and history of ideas of constitutionalism.
