Iraj Azarfaza has served as an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Isfahan since 2023. He earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Tehran in 2020 and later held a postdoctoral fellowship at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
His teaching covers Ancient Greek philosophy (the Presocratics, Plato, Aristotle), Islamic philosophy (al-Kindi, al-Razi, al-Farabi), and contemporary thought (Husserl, Strauss). He also teaches classical Greek at the Cultural Foundation of Eran and Aneran.
Azarfaza’s research focuses on Leo Strauss’s interpretation of Xenophon and on a commentary on Plato’s Apology. He has published in both English and Persian on political, classical, and Islamic philosophy, and has translated two works on Plato into Persian.
