Dr. Mónika Besenyei is Director of the Climate Policy Institute.
She holds degrees in Mathematics and Physics from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) and later earned a qualification in Environmental Engineering from Széchenyi István University in Győr. She obtained her PhD from Corvinus University of Budapest and has pursued further professional development in international adult education, quality assurance, and education development programs, including EU-Success, Climate-KIC, and Transition Hub. Dr. Besenyei is also a member of the Economic Science Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) and the Environmental Pedagogy Section of the Hungarian Association for Educational Research.
Throughout her career, she has taught and conducted research at multiple Hungarian universities while also engaging in training and curriculum development. She has worked as an expert for major international consulting firms and contributed to several green civil organizations. Her primary research focuses on environmental sustainability and the interplay between the economy and the corporate sector.
Dr. Besenyei has previously collaborated with MCC as a guest lecturer, delivering educational presentations on environmental sustainability to high school students.
