Lilla Bánkuty-Balogh is the head of the Center for Global Economy at Mathias Corvinus Collegium, as well as a senior lecturer at Neumann János University and the MNB Institute of METU. She is an economist and geopolitical expert. She completed her studies in World Economics at Corvinus University of Budapest and Bentley University in Boston. She earned a double master’s degree through the CEMS program, a joint initiative of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) and Bocconi University in Milan. She pursued postgraduate studies at Fudan University, the National University of Singapore, IESE Business School in Barcelona, and the University of California, Berkeley. She worked in corporate strategy planning in Germany, Denmark, Brazil, and Spain. For nearly ten years, she served as a senior expert at the Central Bank of Hungary. She earned her PhD at Corvinus University of Budapest with summa cum laude distinction. Her doctoral research focused on the economic implications of geopolitics and emerging technological innovations.
