Szabolcs Horváth is currently member of the cabinet of Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement. Between 2004 and 2019 he held various jobs in the European Commission. Between 2014 and 2019 he was member of the cabinet of Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. He started his career in 1999 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, working on Hungary's accession negotiations to the EU. He holds a university degree in law from ELTE University (Hungary) and in economics from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences. He was a lecturer at the Budapest College of Foreign Trade, Faculty of International Relations and EU Integration between 2000 and 2004.
