George Chirita holds a Ph.D. with a thesis on the construction of meaning in mass media, based on a phenomenological approach. He has published several studies in philosophy and art theory and had various contributions at international philosophy conferences. He worked as a scientific researcher at the Institute of Art Theory in Bucharest. He has lectured in audiovisual communication theory at media universities in Bucharest, proposing a phenomenological approach to media theory. He had experience in public relations as spokesman of the Central Bank of Romania and as chief of the public relations department of the Bucharest Stock Exchange. He has published more than 1,000 editorials in several newspapers. He was a member of the board of administration of the National Center for Cinematography. He is now the director of the Romanian Association for Audiovisual Communication.
