Rector of the Wissenschaftskolleg (2001–2007), Professor (emer.) of Law, Former Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court. Professor Grimm held visiting professorships at many universities all over the world, among them NYU, Harvard and for altogether 15 years the Yale Law School. He received six honorary degrees, was decorated by the President of the French Republic and the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. He is a member of the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften, the Academia Europaea, the British Academy and the American Academy of Arts and Science.
