On the last event of this semester’s MCC Lunch Talks series, our speaker was Dr. David Hodge, a guest lecturer at the MCC Visiting Fellowship Program. He gave a presentation on the international status of religious freedom.

During the presentation, we heard about fundamental human rights and how the concept of religious freedom appears in various international conventions. It also shed light on the social and political acceptance of different religions in several countries. The professor specifically mentioned the situation of Christianity today and the fact that it is considered to be the most persecuted religious community in many places. He also stressed that aggression against religious groups did not always receive enough media attention.

The MCC Lunch Talks series of events aims to give MCC faculty, guest lecturers and students the opportunity to discuss their scientific work and research findings.
